I witnessed a light about as bright as a star and about five times larger move from the northern horizon to the southern horizon in approximately fifteen seconds. The object kind of wobbled back and forth like the shimmering of a mirage and traveled in a shallow arch shaped path changing its course slightly in very sharp movements. At the end of its course it made several sudden zig zag type movements and was gone. I was having a phone conversation with a credible friend when I saw the first object and was on the phone trying to rationalize what I saw to another friend when I saw the second object of the same size and speed exhibit the same movements in the same area of the sky.
We drove to the Stephenville City Park at 1 pm to drop off some animals to be released. While I was unloading the cage I looked up and saw this oval shimmering object in the sky. At first I thought it was a plane, but it didn\'t move like a plane, it bounced in regular patterns. It had the approx. size of a plane though.
I considered a weather balloon, because it reminded me of the movements, but then he shot forward for a short distance and stopped, so no balloon. It was also occurring to me that balloons don\'t shine like metal or even a light.
I heard plane engine noise, but not from the direction I was looking at, but behind me, so I turned around and saw a small airplane approaching. Having placed the engine noise with the correct plane, I turned back to the shiny bouncing object, and it was gone.
I looked at it for about ten seconds. It was exactly 1:12 PM.
This object was higher up than the low flying airplane, but not as high as commercial aircrafts that I see flying over a lot making those vapor trails.
This one was just about in the middle of those 2 levels. There were no clouds to compare the height to really, but it was there..round, shiny, and directly over the pavilion at the park.
